TARTOD Festung
Am westlichen Rand von Vărșag, an der Kreuzung von Târnava Mare Fluss und dem Bach Tartód, auf einer Höhe von 850 Metern, befindet sich ein steiler Aufstieg zu den Ruinen der Burg Tartod aus dem 11.-12. Jahrhundert. (Leider gibt es in historischen Schriften nicht viele Informationen über diese Festung).
Nach archäologischen Forschungen in den 1960er Jahren sollten die Festungen Tartod, Budvar, Kustaly, Firtos und Rapsonné vom ungarischen Königreich errichtet worden sein, um sich vor den östlichen Völkern zu schützen.
Wahrscheinlich am Ende des 12. Jahrhunderts verlor es sein Ziel, wurde verlassen und die Ruinen wurden von der Natur übernommen. Die Landschaft ist ideal für diejenigen, die gerne wandern und bis zu einer halben Stunde zu Ruinen hochklettern, die leider nur in Form einer kleinen Steinmauer mit Moschus überzogen sind, die die Authentizität des ehemaligen Gebäudes unterstreicht. Auf dem Dach sieht man einen Überrest einer ovalen Wand von 75 x 37 m. Während der Untersuchung gab es keine Spur des Gebäudes innerhalb der Wand, einige Tontöpfe wurden bei der Ausgrabungen entdeckt.
